New England in the Fall: Maine 2015

I’ve always wanted to visit New England in the fall. In October of 2015 my husband and I finally got the chance to. After a 14 hour flight from Dubai to NYC and a 10 hour drive we finally made it to Bar Harbor in Maine. What a pleasant surprise when we arrived to the beautiful Maples Inn. Look at this amazing porch!

After the most amazing breakfast from Leigh and Matt, our innkeepers, we were ready to explore Bar Harbor. Look at this quintessential Maine breakfast: blueberry pancakes and maple syrup bacon! So good!

Bar Harbor is spectacular (but cold!). Only pictures can do it justice!

We ended our first day in Bar Harbor doing a walk around Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park. The walk was long but flat and easy and just what I needed after that big breakfast of pancakes and bacon! I was lucky enough to have my best friend, Jess, join us for the Maine portion of our New England road trip. Jordan Pond Loop was the perfect setting to catch up with her.

We ended the day in a local restaurant drinking pumpkin beer!

On our second day in Bar Harbor we spent all day doing a scenic drive.

On our way out of Bar Harbor we drove through Kennebunkport, which is essentially a summer coastal town. It was a very wet cold day so unfortunately I was not able to get the best shots on my little iPhone!
